The final tally is in, and as you can see below, the Gymdogs racked up 56 9.9's or better! This not only exceeds the number of home 9.9's from last year, but the distribution is higher than last year. 9.9 was much more common last year, while 9.95 was the most common of the 9.9+ scores this year -- Wow! Congratulations to the Gymdogs for closing the year with such a great performance, and for helping benefit the Champions Against Cancer - One 9.9 at a time. Thanks to all who have contributed. Remember, it's not too late.

Talya Vexler is a Gymdog who competed from 1999 to 2002. During that time we were cheering for her and her fellow Gymdogs, and they had great success. Now we are cheering for Talya even more. Her competitors as a Gymdog, although they were world class, were nothing compared to her competitor for the last couple of years. In her fight to win in her battle against Cancer, she has moved us even more then her rock solid performances on the beam!
Now the Gymdog family is helping those who face frightening situations like Talya's. In the Champions Against Cancer One 9.9 at a Time, we all have the opportunity to pledge dollars to help the Athens Regional Breast Health Center update their facilities to address the ever increasing needs of those who are facing, and are about to face the horror of this battle. Not everyone has the strong family environment as Talya. She is blessed with her own family and the Gymdog family.
So let's do our part to help this cause. Some may say it's just bricks and mortar, but those are a necessary foundation to provide the environment for the family type nurturing needed by the combatants in this battle.
Not everyone can pledge $10 or $25 for every 9.9 scored at a home meet -- but that doesn't matter. If you can make a one-time pledge, of even 50 cents per 9.9, it will add up. Remember, Stegeman Coliseum fills with 8 to 10 thousand fans each meet. So if each fan pledged a total of 7 to 10 dollars -- there's our goal! So don't think you have to do it all by yourself -- we all need help in our battles, and now Talya and those who share her battle are asking for your help, so please make that pledge today.
